Allstar Hospice

Our hospice volunteer program offers many opportunities for volunteers to be a comfort to our patients and their families, including, but not limited to:

  • Companionship volunteer : Visit patients in their homes or nursing centers and providing companionship to the sick and encouragement to their families.
  • Administrative Volunteer: Assist in the hospice office by filing, shredding, copying, compiling materials, mailing, etc.

Perhaps you have a special talent or hobby with which you can bless others, such as playing the piano, singing, or pet therapy.

Volunteering requires only a brief orientation process and volunteers may serve at their convenience. Background check required.

Mission Statement

At ALLSTAR Hospice our mission is to participate as an active part of the community by providing and continously improving the hospice treatment of patients through value-driven, high-quality, compassionate care.

Description

"Hospice is about Caring, not curing." According to the NHPCO, it is considered the model for quality compassionate care for people facing a life-limiting illness. Hospice provides expert medical care, pain management, and emotional and spiritual support expressly tailored to the patient's needs and wishes. Support is provided to the patient's loved ones as well.

Hospice is a concept of care designed to provide comfort and support to patients and their families. Hospice is not a place. Most hospice care takes place at the patient's home, whether that is his or her own home, a family member's home, or a nursing or assisted living facility.
