If so, your welcoming spirit would be a great fit for Good Sam. Located in an older home near downtown Garland, Good Sam provides food assistance to help families and individuals in need. Being 'people helping people', serving with kindness and without judgment is our core value.
To meet North Texas Food Bank requirements and determine eligibility, new and returning clients meet with a volunteer for a short intake process. As a new volunteer, you would receive training by observation. Qualification for food assistance is easily determined from a program designed for this purpose. No social work or psychology degree required...just a listening, compassionate heart!
When? Monday morning, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Note: Bilingual, light computer skills required.

Good Samaritans of Garland compassionately provides food assistance to qualifying families and individuals in Garland, Rowlett and Sachse (all communities in the GISD). "Good Sam" partners with community resource providers, city agencies, local businesses, school campuses and faith-based communities to help assist in transforming individuals from dependence to independence.
