Mission Statement

At Pajama Program, we promote a comforting bedtime routine for children affected by instability to help them thrive. At the Atlanta Reading Center, our programming focuses on shared reading between a child and an adult volunteer. The shared reading experience is aimed to give children a sense of comfort and belonging, so that they feel better prepared for a good night’s rest. We believe that every child has the right to a loving good night, complete with the comforting bedtime ritual of changing into new, clean pajamas and enjoying an enchanting story. Therefore, all of our Reading Center programming is complete with the magical gifts of new pajamas and storybooks to each child that attends a shared reading experience. The children who attend our programming are between the ages of 4 and 18 and visit us from local Community Partners including shelters, Pre-kindergarten/Head Start programs, group homes, Title I schools, and other child-serving organizations.
