Are you experienced in Marketing, PR, and/or Fundraising? If you are a passionate professional willing to volunteer your time and energy to help in the mission of Ruff House Rescue, Freeport, NY we are looking for you! RHR is a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to the rescue of homeless dogs and cats. Become a Volunteer change a Dog's (Cat's) Life!! A Kind Heart & a Helping Hand always seem to come together!!

Virtual position but must be located near Freeport (NYC or Long Island), we have 2 volunteer areas!

Volunteer Areas:

• Marketing and Communications: Join our social media team creating content, designing email blasts, newsletters, marketing materials and more!

• Fundraising: We are seeking help with increasing our numbers in media outreach to help secure donations for pet food and enrichment toys, medical care, cleaning supplies, mini-van specifically fitted to transport animals, training, and develop new programs to aid in our mission. And hopefully (eventually) a building to house our pups/kitties!

Major Responsibilities:

• Set clear objectives through a social media plan focusing on awareness, donor promotion and retention, and site traffic
• Secure media exposure (newspapers, TV, online) which will help us to get our animals adopted and secure potential new donors
• Maintain compelling and consistent branding across all social channels
• Increase likes, improve engagement and generate leads
• Create, curate, and manage published content (images, video and written)
• Develop and expand community and/or outreach efforts
• Increase fundraising efforts

Length of term:

Six month minimum commitment.

There is no minimum amount of time required, only what you are able to volunteer.

Qualifications:

1. Virtual position but must be located near Freeport, New York (NYC or Long Island)
2. Minimum of 5 years experience in Marketing, PR, or Fundraising or Bachelor Degree and 2 years experience in related field
3. Knowledge of Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn
4. Think outside of the box
5. Strong work ethics and attention to detail
6. Exceptional writing, editing, organizational and management skills
7. Demonstrate creativity and passion

YES a letter is provided. Also if you do a "drive" for Kennel Supplies, Start a "RHR Dog Rescue Club" and help our mission (with Baked Goods Sales, Monies/Pennies for RHR Fundraiser, or Wear Jeans or PJs for A Day) or a Garage |Tag Sale at your university l school | church |community center you could have someone LOCAL be a Coordinator of your hours. Also see the "Exercise + ResQWalk" or "Exercise + Wooftrax" volunteer opportunities where your time and distance exercised is recorded on the cell phone application.

Our mission is to rescue homeless pets that suffer from abuse, neglect, and indifference. Our goal is to create awareness of the epidemic of homeless pets and educate on the importance of spaying and neutering, ID tagging, and training these pets. Through our rescue efforts we are both saving lives and cultivating the natural connection between man and his best friend.
