The Old North End Neighborhood iVillage is built around the simple idea that neighbors can help take care of other neighbors. By doing so, we reinvigorate a close-knit neighborhood community and help people of all ages and abilities stay in their homes, age in community, and feel comfortable in the Old North End.
The iVillage works with the Neighborhood Association and residents of the Old North End to organize volunteer neighbors to provide minor services to other residents, such as local transportation, light housework, or snow shoveling. Additionally, the iVillage Program Coordinator will work with residents to create social events, interest groups, and other activities that give people a place to get to know each other, build relationships, and feel at home.
Volunteer opportunities are varied and flexible, when you make contact you will be able to indicate what services you would be willing to take part in. Because of the flexible nature, volunteers of all ages are welcome! Here is a list of possible services:
