Hello,
At GRID, we believe that everyone should have access to renewable energy and with the help of volunteers and job trainees, we can really make that possible.
Solar Works DC is a newly designed low-income solar installation and job training program spearheaded by the Department of Energy & Environment (DOEE) and the Department of Employment Services (DOES). GRID Alternatives Mid-Atlantic is responsible for implementing the first year of the program, preparing participating District residents to enter careers in solar and related industries while reducing energy costs for qualified low-income District homeowners by installing solar systems on their homes.
Registration for the Fall training program has officially opened! GRID Alternatives is recruiting up to 25 District residents to participate in the 12-week program and receive hands-on job training to install solar panels on up to 100 low-income households in DC. Additional information and program requirements can be found on the Solar Works DC site.
Individuals interested in applying should send a cover letter and resumé toSolarWorksDC@gridalternatives.org. Questions related to the Solar Works DC or other GRID Alternatives’ programs should be directed to GRID’s Workforce team at 202-517-8857.
We look forward to hearing from you!
