Are you a quilter? We need your help! The Troy Historic Village hosts its first-ever Quilt Exhibit from Monday August 7 - Friday August 18. We're looking for experienced quilters to greet visitors during the exhibit and answer quilting questions from our guests as they tour the exhibit. It's a fun opportunity to share your knowledge and passion with others.
You'll be stationed in a beautifully-restored historic building with a Village volunteer who will also welcome guests and help answer visitors' history-related questions. The Village is ADA accessible.
This is a great opportunity for adults and seniors; members of quilt guilds are especially encouraged to volunteer.
Shifts take place Monday 8/7 - Friday 8/18. Shift times are 9:30 am - 12:30 pm or 12:15 pm - 3:15 pm. Weekend shifts also available Saturday 8/12 & Sunday 8/13; late afternoon/evening shifts on Thursday 8/17.

Description
The Troy Historical Society is a nonprofit organization with more than 40 years of success in preserving and presenting the history of our region. On July 1, 2011 the Troy Historical Society assumed responsibility for operation of the Troy Historic Village, where history lives. The Troy Historic Village includes ten historic buildings, surrounding a village green that is enhanced by gardens and mature trees. A tent and gazebo on the green provide areas for outdoor concerts, storytelling and reading aloud. There is ample space for picnics and traditional activities and games. Our historic buildings host concerts, lectures, discussions and meetings, as well as exhibits of arts and artifacts.
The Troy Historic Village is a destination for students, children, families and adults who live in or visit southeast Michigan.CAUSE AREAS
