Mission Statement

Friends for a NonViolent World is a Quaker-inspired organization of people who affirm the dignity inherent in each human being. We share a commitment to advancing nonviolence as an ethic for honoring human dignity and a strategy for achieving peace and justice.

We provide tools, training and opportunities for people to take leadership in creating a non-violent society. We affirm the dignity and self-determination of each person, promoting non-violence as a powerful means to accomplish all just ends. The goals of FNVW are to promote peace in the personal lives of individuals, in communities plagued by violence and in the political system of the United States through the promotion of a peace agenda in foreign and domestic public policy. Additionally, FNVW strives to educate people on the impact of violence in all areas of our lives, from personal relationships to American foreign policy.
