Run for the Parks Volunteer Recruitment Information
Volunteers are needed for the annual "Run for the Parks" 5k fun run/2k walk hosted by The Park People of Milwaukee and the Bay View Neighborhood Association. This year’s run/walk will be held on Tues, July 25 at Humboldt Park in Bay View during the park’s weekly "Chill on the Hill" concert. Registration for run/walk starts at 5 pm and the run/walk starts at 6:30 pm.
Volunteers are needed throughout the run/walk route to direct running, control pedestrian traffic at the park, hand out water, etc. Volunteers will also help set up water station tables. Volunteer check-in is at 530 pm and volunteers are needed to stay along the route until 7:30 pm.
All volunteers will receive a "Run for the Parks" t-shirt and are encouraged to stay for the free "Chill on the Hill" concert in the park immediately following the run/walk.

Description
The Park People is a non-profit organization created in 1977 to support the County Parks Department in maintaining and enhancing the park system. We strive to develop community involvement in neighborhood parks through several programs ("Weed-Out!", The Park Market, Friends Groups, etc...) and hope to someday have a separate Park District to continue this stewardship.
