Help get our school ready for the school year! We will be repainting 2 rooms and working on a couple of simple building projects. No special skills required. Bring your own work gloves and wear clothes that can get messy, and closed-toed shoes. Lunch, snacks, and water provided.

Mission Statement
The Open School is unlike any other school. We begin with the reality of the student: What are their passions? What motivates them? What creates meaning in their lives? We know they already possess many amazing qualities; we don’t need to mold them to fit any standard. And we also know they are in a process of becoming themselves and sometimes ask for help. We facilitate their growth by sitting along side them, by listening, and by asking questions.
Description
The Open School is an institution founded on the principles of genuine freedom and personal autonomy. Enrollees age 5-18 engage in self governance through participatory democracy that has real impact on their daily lives, and spend their time in self-directed exploratory pursuits.
