ORGANIZATION: Pride Community Center of the Tri-Cities

The Pride Community Center of the Tri-Cities is planning an End of the Summer Festival on September 16th in Johnson City. We will need volunteers to assist with the planning of the festival along with the event itself. We have the following volunteer positions available. Please e-mail us with which position(s) you are interested in along with your contact information (e-mail, phone number, and Facebook url if you are on FB).

We need volunteers for the following:

5-6 volunteers to set up the day of the festival which includes setting up tents, booths, merchandise tables, etc

5-6 people to pack up at the end of the festival including the tents, booths, and merchandise tables, etc

6 volunteers to monitor silent auction booth (2 at a time for one of the 3 hour shifts)

3 people to monitor entry booths along (1 person per 3 hour shift)

6 people to act as parking attendees (1-2 people per 3 hour shift)

6 people to assist the director the day of the festival (1-2 people per 3 hour shift)

5-10 people to assist with the planning of the festival (silent auction items, sponsorships, event details, etc)

Pride Community Center of the Tri-Cities’ values include a commitment to serve the community in accordance with these principles: * To actively embrace diversity within and among our communities, generating inclusiveness of opinions, beliefs, and values without regard to age, socio-economic status, race, culture, or religious practice. * To promote the empowerment of marginalized groups within the LGBT communities such as youth, seniors, and people with disabilities. * To work toward the eradication of violence in our community and the lives of individuals. * To work toward the elimination of all types of discrimination including homophobia, heterosexism, racism, sexism, classism, ageism, ableism, and other forms of oppression in our communities and the lives of individuals. * To foster LGBT community involvement in the area while promoting positive visibility and acceptance. * To engage the larger community in our work through the promotion of volunteerism and collaboration with like-minded individuals and organizations, including those that are not specifically LGBT identified. * To promote positive social change within and beyond our organization while keeping the community informed of our actions and decisions.
