Come out and support your community by joining us at our Annual GO GREEN School Readiness & Wellness Event!
This event centers around providing students with school supplies in order to help them thrive academically. The purpose of the event is to help support at least 300 children and youth between the ages of 5-17 with back to school supplies such as backpacks, paper, pens, pencils, folders, notebooks, crayons, drawing pads, rulers, glue stickers, pencil sharpeners and any other supplies needed to help ensure a successful start to the fall school year.
During the event, we will also provide health screenings, and promote environmental awareness, health, fitness, nutrition, and educate students and parents on the importance of concepts such as recycling, trash reduction, and conservation. Community members are encouraged to bring their recyclables, e-waste, gently used clothing, shoes, books, and toys to donate to others in need.
There will be live entertainment, motivational speaking, parent information, resource tables, a fun zone for kids, free giveaways, and other activities for the community to support environmental responsibility.
We are asking volunteers to arrive at 8:00am at Iglesia de Jesucristo in order to register and get your assigned responsibilities accordingly. We will also sign-off on volunteer hours for high school and college students!

Description
The Foster & Banks Walk in Faith Foundation is a social service agency created to support, educate, and guide children and families located in Los Angeles County. The primary goal of the Foundation is to address the needs of and provide services and support to "at-risk" children, adolescents and young adults experiencing crisis, and those with developmental or learning disabilities. Programs include tutoring designed to improve skills and capitalize on strengths, music classes to stimulate individuality and creativity, and workshops like self-esteem building to foster the confidence needed for youth to be successful in the community. The Foundation will also offer programs like adult support groups, family game nights, and other events for the families of these children to help create more positive and functional family systems.
