Specialized Support Group Facilitator

We are looking for passionate volunteers to provide family caregivers with support and education about dementia and the challenges of caregiving. The groups provide new coping skills, validation of fears and frustrations, and problem solving tools. These groups allow participants to share feelings in a confidential, supportive environment. Social work background a plus, but not required.
This group meets on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of every month from 10 am - noon, at our office in Irvine. We request a minimum commitment of 2 hours a month.
Required: Interview, online HIPAA training, orientation and training, and a background check. Volunteer must be free of potential conflicts of interest.

The Alzheimer's Orange County is a non-profit agency. We are funded through personal donations, grants, fundraisers and donations from large corporations. Alzheimer's Orange County provides support, information and education to Alzheimer's individuals and their families, friends and co-workers.
