Volunteer Program

The hospice philosophy focuses on quality of life for those living with end-stage illnesses so they may maintain as much comfort and dignity as possible. Our dedicated team of healthcare professionals and volunteers provides caring support for both the patient and their loved ones.

We are always in need of new volunteers to join our team - give your time,your talents, your heart by becoming one of our volunteers.

Volunteers are an important part of the hospice philosophy. You are there to provide companionship, read a book, write a letter, take a patient outside or to a facility activity. Volunteers step in when a family member needs a break, and area there for the family and friends after their loved one has passed away. No matter what your skills, talents or motivation, we have the opportunity for you!

What Does It Take To Be a Kindred Hospice Volunteer:

• Tolerance, flexibility and patience
• Good Communication Skills
• Confidentiality
• Empathy, Sincerity and sensitivity
• Dependability
• Be at least 18 years old
• Complete hospice volunteer training
• Criminal Bacground Check

Visitor Volunteer - Make friendly visits to people on hospice care in their homes or long-term care facilities, and provide companionship and support to the patient and their family.
