Pollinator patch tending at Camel's Hump Park

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Friends of the Mississippi River

Camel's Hump Park and Open Space, located in Cottage Grove, is home to beautiful river views overlooking Highway 61. On Thursday, August 24th, Join Friends of the Mississippi River for this summer work-night in the park from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Together, we will return to this stunning site to tend to previously planted pollinator patch gardens. These patches provide much-needed concentrated habitat and resources for local birds, bees, butterflies, and other pollinators as well as help beautify this park.

All are welcome, but capacity is limited and registration is required. As always, all tools and training will be provided and volunteers are encouraged to work at their own pace and comfort level. For more information, including registration information, visit us at https://fmr.org/events/2017/08/24/pollinator-patch-tending-camels-hump-park

Registration closes end of day Wednesday, August 23.

Mission Statement

Friends of the Mississippi River (FMR) engages people to protect, restore and enhance the Mississippi River and its watershed in the Twin Cities region.

Description

Friends of the Mississippi River is proud to work with roughly 3,000 volunteers annually.

We keep volunteering simple, fun and satisfying -- there are no applications, and you can sign up for one event or several. We list events especially in need of volunteers here on VolunteerMatch.com, but maintain a full calendar of 60+ events a year at www.fmr.org/events.

Our project work includes conservation and restoration of natural areas and habitat, education on watershed protection issues, and organizing activities that connect the public to the Mississippi River.
