Eligibility
Anyone who is interested in Fife cultural, agricultural, civic and social history or history in general is eligible to apply.
Training
Attend a onetime general meeting to learn about the Fife History Museum and Cultural Center, which includes a guided tour of the museum.Attend a training session specifically about your volunteer job. You will work alongside a staff member before starting on your own.
Benefits
Receive a complimentary $20.00 individual membership, museum swag (hat, magnet, stickers, etc) and museum t-shirt. Volunteers will be recognized once a year on our website and newsletter and social media, showing jobs performed and hours worked.
Volunteer Opportunities
GREETER/DOCENT: Commitment: 5 hours, 1-2 time per month one week day one Saturday.
Greet visitors, provide information on museum and current exhibits. Store sales and inventory.Light cleaning. You will work alongside a staff member before starting on your own.
COLLECTIONS/INVENTOR VOLUNTEER: Commitment: Flexible scheduled weekday and time
Assist with intake and processing of artifacts. Help care for and organize physical photos and documents and newspaper clipping collection.Organizing/labeling of boxes, bags and artifacts in our storage rooms.
EXHIBIT VOLUNTEER: Commitment:Flexible scheduled weekday and time
Assist with exhibit design and set up and take down.
FACILITIES VOLUNTEER: Commitment: Flexible scheduled weekday and time
Tasks assigned as needed.Assist with the museum interior, building exhibit structures, make improvements and repairs.
EVENT VOLUNTEER: Commitment: Day of Event
Set up, clean up, greeter, assigned tasks, assisting event coordinators.

Car Show - Last Sunday in June (Saturday day before)
National Night Out - First Tuesday in August
Harvest Festival Booth - First Saturday in October
October Open House - Second Saturday in October
December Open House - First Saturday in December
GENERAL VOLUNTEERR: Time Commitment: Flexible
Perform miscellaneous tasks as needed by Staff.Mailing, cleaning, gardening, delivering promotional material, pre-event planning.

Description
The Fife Historical Society operates the Fife History Museum, located in the former home of Louis and Marion Dacca, as well as the Dacca Barn, a rental venue next door to the museum.
