ORGANIZATION: JVS, Jewish Vocational Service

Volunteers needed for a job search club for students in JVS's Certified Nursing Assistant program. Help students revise resumes, write and send cover letters, fill out online applications and prepare for job interviews.

Mondays and Wednesdays 2:45-4:15pm
October 25-December 6

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Strong writing skills
  • Knowledge of resume and cover letter formats
  • Computer skills and familiarity with online job applications
  • Sensitivity to cultural and linguistic differences

Program/Department Overview:

The CNA program at JVS helps students improve their English and computer skills, learn necessary skills for working with the elderly, and prepare to pass the Certified Nursing Assistant certification exam. This is a 14 week, full-time program designed for non-native, intermediate level English speakers. JVS’ strong employer relationships will then help ensure students’ successful job placement after graduation.
