The Des Plaines Friends of the Parks is hosting our 6th annual "Golf in the Dark at Lake Park" on Saturday, September 28, 2019. To date, this exciting glow-in-the-dark golf tournament, dinner and silent auction has helped provide over $45,000 in scholarships so children in Des Plaines, Illinois can participate in Des Plaines Park District’s programs, classes and summer camps. Did you know that nearly 53 percent of the students in elementary school District 62 qualify for free and reduced meals? Our community’s children depend on our scholarships to support their recreational needs.
Golfers enjoy this unique tournament once the sun sets. Glow golf balls and LED lighted markers illuminate the fairway. Participants enjoy great food, adult beverages, music, raffles and a silent auction.
Volunteers are needed in the weeks leading up to the main event and throughout the event for a variety of jobs. Set-up, golf course monitoring, tear-down, plus more. Sign up for a shift or stay for the entire event! Volunteers will be given dinner. If you cannot help on September 28th, we are in need of posters being up in local businesses, registration forms distributed, raffle items and silent auction items donated. We would appreciate any sponsorships or donations, so please pass along our event's info!
