About Us: Sports & Arts in Schools Foundation (SASF) Sports and Wellness Department is dedicated to improving both physical and nutritional health amongst under-served youth in New York City, through the implementation of sports, wellness and fitness programs. A wide variety of programs are delivered at SASF after-school sites encouraging children to play more, have fun and adapt healthy lifestyle habits.

Volunteer Positions: Volunteers engage students and their families at a Mets game.

Purpose of Position: Sports & Arts in Schools Foundation wants to engage students in meaningful activities to further their health - mind and body. Engage students and their families through sports.

Responsibilities and Duties: Some volunteers will be assigned to direct school groups to check-in and to the stadium while others will assist at check-in and ensure all students receive water and goody bag.

The mission of New York Edge is to help bridge the opportunity gap among underserved students by providing programs designed to improve academic performance, health and wellness, self-confidence, character and attitudes for success in life.

Description

Operating between three and five days each week for 36 weeks during the school year in most programs, we offer combined academic enrichment curricula including: literacy, STEM, leadership, High School Today College Tomorrow (HSTCT) and Middle School Today High School Tomorrow (MSTHST) with sports and wellness, music, visual and performing arts opportunities and trips to educational and cultural institutions.
