Photographer

Title: Volunteer Photographer

Time and availability: Flexible

Description: The Brownwood Public Library is looking for an individual with photography experience who can produce pictures for marketing and organization branding. The Volunteer Photographer will work closely with library staff and volunteers to create digital images which document and capture special events, library programs, volunteer services, and activities. These high-quality images will be used to support the library’s website and printed marketing, donor thanks, member recognition, and outreach.

The Volunteer Photographer will take pictures on site (at either/both libraries) and occasionally at special library events off-site.

Right now, we are primarily interested in everyday type pictures of people using the library and its services. We have a large number of pictures we’ve accumulated from other libraries around the web that we could imitate to stage people using and enjoying the library.

The Volunteer Photographer will also need to use library-provided forms to obtain permission to use the likeness of those whose faces appear in photographs (or their parents, for minors).

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years old or older; 16+ may be considered with guardian supervision
  • Must have previous experience as a photographer, either as an amateur or working professional
  • Must have own photography equipment

The library will need copyright releases for images shot by volunteer photographers for the library. However, if desired, the Library will place the photographer’s photo credit or image stamps on images when they are used.
