The Michigan Science Center is excited to introduce its new exhibit: 1001 Inventions: Untold Stories from a Global Age of Innovation. This exhibit will take MiSci visitors on an inspirational journey through a colorful and creative period in a golden age of civilization that stretched from Spain to China beginning in the 7th century.

The volunteers for 1001 Inventions will educate visitors, raise awareness of science heritage and make a clear measurable impact on public perception of science and social diversity. This volunteer role is a 25-hour commitment over a period of three months.

Volunteers will be expected to stand for hours at a time, actively speaking with guests in an outgoing manner, engaging children and families with inquiry based learning and facts about inventors and inventions. Volunteers will be asked to impersonate some of the historical inventors and retain extensive speaking scripts and factual information. Additionally, volunteers will help direct guests around the building and exhibit and facilitate hands-on activities. They will also help enforce simple rules including "no running" etc.
