Military veterans are needed in the Chisago City, Forest Lake, North Branch, Rush City, Pine City, Hugo, White Bear Lake and Blaine area to visit with our hospice patients who are veterans. The We Honor Veterans program honors people for their service and creates opportunities to share experiences.
Vet to Vet volunteers may assist with:
- Pinning ceremonies
- Provide companionship
Visits are typically 1-4 hours, every 1-2 weeks. Our patients are located throughout the greater metro area; You can choose to visit patients close to your home. We provide training for all of our volunteers. Volunteers do not need medical training. You just need a desire to help.

Description
When life expectancy is limited, AccentCare Fairview Hospice staff and volunteers will help patients and caregivers focus on improving the quality of their remaining days. Hospice provides medical, emotional, social and spiritual care. We bring these services to the familiar setting of patient's own homes whenever possible. The same kind of care may also be given at a long-term care site, a group home, an assisted living site or a residential hospice.
