Let us remember the service of our veterans, and let us renew our national promise to fulfill our sacred obligations to our veterans and their families who sacrificed so much so that we can live fee. ~Dan Lapinski
Veterans are needed in the Chisago City, Forest Lake, North Branch, Rush City, Pine City, Hugo, White Bear Lake, Woodbury and Stillwater area to visit with our hospice patients who are veterans. The We Honor Veterans program honors people for their service and creates opportunities to share experiences. Vet to Vet volunteers may assist with:
- Pinning ceremonies
- Record stories for the Veteran History Project
- Bring recognition gifts on holidays
- Provide companionship
- Assist families in applying for a presidential memorial certificate
Visits are typically 1-4 hours, every 1-2 weeks. Our patients are located throughout the Metro area and you can choose to visit people close to your home.
You do not need medical training. You just need a desire to help.
Find more information about our program, including an application, at http://www.fairview.org/hospicevolunteer.
About Fairview Home Care and Hospice-Lakes Area

Our Mission: We offer an exceptional experience for patients and families focused on their physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.
When life expectancy is limited, Fairview Hospice staff and volunteers will help patients and caregivers focus on improving the quality of their remaining days. Hospice provides medical, emotional, social and spiritual care. We bring these services to the familiar setting of patient's own homes whenever possible. The same kind of care may also be given at a long-term care site, a group home, an assisted living site or a residential hospice.
We'll work with your schedule.
