Compost

At Feed & Be Fed Farm one way that we are pitching in to help care for the earth is through our compost program. In a little over 2 year of starting our urban farm we have collected over 10,000 pounds of food waste (otherwise bound for the landfill) and transformed it into nutrient rich compost soil to grow more food for the local community.

We are looking for volunteers to help us maintain our compost program and increase our people power. More people power means, faster processing, and faster processing means we can accept more compostables to divert even more usable waste from our landfills.

No experience is necessary, but physical strength is certainly helpful. Volunteers will be trained in how to recieve and process compostable donations from the community, learn how to properly maintain a variety of compost system types, and harvest "black gold" to help grow more food for the local community.

Contact us for information about the next training opportunity and how to get plugged to this great opportunity to care for the earth through composting.
