We're excited to tell you more about Uhuru Breakfast and Lunch booth at the Grand Lake Farmer's Market. This is a fun, fast-paced outdoor booth at the popular Grand Lake Farmer's Market across the street from the Grand Lake Theater happening every Saturday from 7 am to 3 pm (with produce, music, food vendors, kid's activities and more). Uhuru Foods serves Jerk chicken and mock chicken sandwiches, sweet potato pie as well as hibiscus and ginger tea. Usually we need 4 - 5 people to cover 2 shifts: 7 am - 11:30 am and 11 to 3 pm.
Uhuru Foods and Pies is part of Black Star Industries, establishing an independent economy led by the black community, to create political and economic self reliance for African people in the bay area and worldwide.
We cook and serve a menu of delicious African comfort food: sandwiches hot off our grill and refreshing fresh brewed ice cold teas.
We are looking for volunteers from 7 to 11:30 am or 11am to 3pm. No experience necessary, just an interest in cooking and food service.
Uhuru Foods and Pies is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Black Star Industries, funding political and economic self reliance programs led by the African community. We are registered with Alameda county as an authorized opportunity for the completion of court mandated / project 22 community service hours for Alameda county.
Complete your hours and support African community political and economic self reliance!
