Purpose: The Member Education Coordinator serves to help plan and schedule educational offerings for the Gilda’s Club Louisville program calendar. This role helps support our core values of Inclusion, Mastery of Service, Excellence, Never-ending Growth, and Teamwork.
Location: Gilda’s Club Louisville: 633 Baxter Avenue, Louisville, KY 40204 or work may be done remotely
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and schedule 6 educational offerings per calendar year
- Work with volunteer professionals to plan offerings based on member interest/appeal
- Attend all 6 events and manage collection of feedback from participants
- Advise new offerings based on analysis of member feedback after the events
The Length of Appointment: The Member Education Coordinator serves for one calendar year.
Time Commitment: Between two to and four hours per week; more time required immediately prior to and immediately following an event
Qualifications: Pleasant and friendly manner, patience, excellent listening skills, conversational aptitude, dependability, and self-sufficiency. Comfort with email and technology systems, making phone calls and familiarity with basic phone and email etiquette is required. Desirable qualifications include a personal cancer connection and/or graduate of Gilda’s Club Support Groups.

Description
Founded in New York in 1995 in memory of Gilda Radner, who died of ovarian cancer at the age of 43, Gilda's Club offers a one-of-a-kind approach to providing support for people with cancer. Gilda's Club Louisville, which just opened its signiture red doors on Baxter Avenue this August 2007, is a cancer support community that recognizes the emotional and social support needs of all individuals whose lives have been altered by cancer, whether patients, survivors, care givers or family members.
The activities take place in a local clubhouse that provides a welcoming, home-like environment. The clubhouse includes a community room, smaller rooms for support groups, a kitchen with a layout conducive to teaching, a living room, library, art workshop, teen game room, and 4 group/play rooms for younger children in various age groups.
