Mission

To provide compassionate care to those we serve during the end of life's journey through our commitment to clinical excellence and uncompromising service.

Description

Kindred Hospice is a team of professionals who provide care to patients and their families with end of life needs. As a key member of the team, our volunteers expand and enhance the quality of life of our patients. Volunteers bring a variety of special skills and talents to share with patients, and offer comfort and support through companionship visits in the homes of our patients.

As a patient support volunteer, your participation in the care team can include companionship to the patient and/or respite relief to the primary caregiver of the patient, writing letters, listening to music, looking at photos, reminiscing about their past, running errands, crochet or knit, providing pet therapy visits, or even preparing their favorite dessert!

Mission Statement

To improve quality of life for those we serve through the delivery of clinical excellence, extraordinary service and compassionate care, while being recognized as the leader in home health and hospice services.

Description

As a leading hospice provider in the San Antonio area, we focus on clinical excellence in managing pain and symptoms so patients may experience a calm and peaceful quality of life in their final days.

Hospice focuses on palliative measures and comfort care when an individual is at a terminal stage of a life-limiting diagnosis. One of our goals are to:

*Affirm life and dignity while neither hastening nor postponing death.

*Support patients and their families as they discover meaningful ways to say good bye.

*Identify and educate a supportive community that will be sensitive to the needs of the patient and his or her loved ones.

*Offer palliative care and support to all terminally ill patients and their families without regard for diagnosis, race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, veteran's status, disability, sexual orientation, place of residence or ability to pay.
