Mission Statement
The mission of the Forsyth Farmers' Market is to promote understanding and participation in a local food system that supports sustainable production and increases access to local products.
Description
Forsyth Farmers' Market was founded in 2009 to work towards the vision of a local food system that is good for the health of all citizens and the environment. FFM, Inc. manages Forsyth Park's Saturday farmers' market and operates Farm Truck 912, our mobile market. We are dedicated to issues surrounding food; food sovereignty, food insecurity, food accessibility, etc. We are farmer oriented -- our market is a producer only market in which vendors must produce/harvest 75% of what they sell. In addition, we maintain an approximate 70/30 ratio of produced food to prepared foods. We partner with Wholesome Wave Georgia to double EBT dollars at the market and on the food truck in order to improve accessibility of healthy food.
