Come help clean up Fields Point! Shoreline trash is ugly and dangerous to wildlife, and shoreline cleanups are an easy way for volunteers to make a difference. Save The Bay will provide the trash bags and disposable gloves. All volunteers should dress for the weather and wear clothes they don't mind getting dirty. Closed-toed shoes are required. All volunteers must be able to do some light to moderate bending and lifting. Volunteers under 16 must participate with an adult. Volunteers must have their own transportation to the event. All volunteers are encouraged to bring their own reusable gloves, water bottle and snacks to the cleanup event.

Access to Save The Bay is through the Johnson & Wales Harborside campus. Enter through the Allens Ave/ Narragansett Blvd entrance. Drive down Harborside Boulevard, through the campus toward the water. At the end of the road, you will make a right onto Save The Bay Drive, which leads to our building.

NOTE: Let the guard at the kiosk know you are going to Save The Bay. Please use the Harborside Blvd entrance as described here - you will not be able to enter the campus through Ernest/Shipyard unless you have a JWU pass.

About Save The Bay

Location:

100 Save the Bay Drive, Providence, RI 02905, US

Mission Statement

Save The Bay protects, restores and improves the ecological health of the Narragansett Bay region, including its watershed and adjacent coastal waters, through an ecosystem-based approach to environmental action; defends the right of the public to use and enjoy the Bay and its surrounding waters; and fosters an ethic of environmental stewardship among people who live in or visit the Narragansett Bay region.

Description

Save The Bay was founded on the community's desire to protect our most precious resource - Narragansett Bay. To do that, Save The Bay has focused on the development of a committed constituency for the Bay. Children and adults throughout this region have learned the tremendous value the Bay brings to our economy, our environment and our quality of life.

In defense of Narragansett Bay and its watershed, Save The Bay has watched over the activities and programs of the government and the citizenry that degrade the environmental quality of the Bay, basin, and watershed. Save The Bay provides educational opportunities for children and adults to explore the Bay, fostering a understanding and a sense of personal responsibility for the resource.
