ES Class w female volunteer

With a little help from Junior Achievement (JA), you can be in a classroom, helping 3rd grade students at Ida Freeman Elementary learn important conceptssurrounding entrepreneurship, financial literacy and workforce readiness .

Visits will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for two weeks beginning August 21st. Time is flexible, and visits last 1 hour each.

Students who participate in JA understand how to control their finances, are better prepared for the workforce, and feel they are personally in control of their destiny, which contributes towards overall optimism and hope.

Volunteers are provided with a curriculum packet with all the materials needed to teach the lessons (including a step-by-step lesosn plan book), and a one-hour training session to prepare them for going into the classroom.

Mission Statement

To Inspire and Prepare Young People to Succeed in a Global Economy.

Description

Junior Achievement empowers young people to own their economic success. Our programs educate young people to value free enterprise, business and economics through the support of teachers, parents, and volunteers in the classroom. Junior Achievement uses hands-on experiences to help young people understand how the real-world works.

In partnership with business and educators, Junior Achievement brings the real-world to students, opening their minds to their potential and showing them that they can make a difference in the world.

Junior Achievement programs complement and support the great work that teachers accomplish by helping educate students in personal finance and practical workplace skills, preparing them to pursue their careers as well as their dreams.
