Amazing Mile Children’s Run invites area youth ages 13 and under to get up and get moving in downtown Lynchburg! Held in conjunction with the Genworth Virginia 10 Miler , this regional favorite offers an event for every skill level including a 1 mile run, a 1/2 mile run, and a 1/4 mile run. Each year family members and community spectators head downtown to support the children’s run and take part in the Virginia 10 Miler Family Festival held at Amazement Square and the surrounding area between Jefferson Street and the James River! Volunteers would do a variety of different tasks, including: helping to set up and tear down the event, getting runners warmed up for their races, aiding the runners' parents in finding their children, giving each child their own medal to take home, preparing and handing out bags with snacks after the race, and aiding in some fun activities in our Family Festival.
