Join the UHURU Back To School Campaign Team as a Volunteer!

The job of the campaign team is to let the community, and in particular new students, know that Uhuru Furniture is the best place to shop for great furniture, rugs, lamps and more at great prices, as well as to donate.

Uhuru Furniture is a project of the African People’s Education and Defense Fund (APEDF.org). When you volunteer, you are a part of an organization and supporting programs for health, education and economic development of the black community.

As a volunteer you can:

- Poster on campus and in local stores

- Hand out postcards to students on campus

- Door hang at campus housing areas

Description

Uhuru Furniture and Collectibles is a non-profit store that is a fundraiser for black community empowerment programs of APEDF. We receive a truck load of donated furniture and household items every day. This is a lively, popular Grand Lake area store staffed mostly by volunteers. When you volunteer at Uhuru Furniture, you not only contribute to the success of the store, you become part of a larger movement for peace through social justice. People shop at Uhuru Furniture for low priced, top quality items and to support crucial programs for social justice for African people.
