This volunteer position is responsible for communicating, marketing, and public relations, to the community, businesses and donors.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Writing and editing of communications materials including external, internal and electronic newsletters, press releases, and donor/volunteer letters

  • Respond to requests for information from the media
  • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with representatives of the community, local businesses
  • Plan and direct development and communication of informational programs to maintain favorable public perception of Faith Works Community Outreach and its mission
  • Produce production of advertisements and events
  • Arrange public appearances and/or other platforms for the community to increase awareness of services and promote goodwill.
  • Development of new communication strategies, including more web-based, interactive strategies and social media
  • Marketing of Faith Works Community Outreach programs
  • General support of all activities, including special events, community outreach and mailings
  • Limited administrative/clerical duties
  • Attend monthly board meetings with a written report.

Skills & Knowledge:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer skills and the ability to organize are required

  • Must be friendly, professional, flexible as well as eager to offer new ideas
