The Outreach Programs Administrative Assistant volunteer opportunity supports our HELP program, Youth Center and Summer Foods program staff. The position involves answering phones, taking messages and routing calls to staff, greeting clients who enter the building, helping clients complete applications for services, scheduling client appointments, sorting and documenting donations of clothing and other supplies, assisting staff with the management of school supply inventories, assisting in the upkeep of the clothes closet, as well as assisting youth/parents while in the clothes closet. We are team focused, and as a support position the Admin volunteer will assist with other tasks as needed. We strive to assist volunteers with building job skills, if needed, including computer skills. We also look first at our volunteers when looking to fill staff positions. This position is available September through June, as the HELP Program closes down in the summer. Volunteers typically move into our Free Summer Lunch program, if interested.
