Avenue CDC revitalizes the Near Northside and Washington Avenue communities of Houston by developing affordable housing and economic opportunities, while preserving our area's historic, cultural, and economic diversity.
Description
Avenue CDC, a local Houston non-profit organization, was formed in 1991 by residents of Old Sixth Ward to develop affordable housing and preserve the historic architecture of the National Register Historic District. Avenue CDC has since expanded its target area to include the historic neighborhood just north and northwest of downtown and around Washington Avenue to address the growing need for affordable housing and economic opportunities while preserving historic character and cultural diversity close to downtown.
