Kiddy Up Ranch’s dedicated volunteer team is the backbone of our organization. You don’t need to have horse experience but you need to feel comfortable with the horses and be able to complete tasks independently.
There are many areas in which volunteer assistance is needed: participating during classes as a horse handler or side walker, providing horse care, small animal care and special events.
Kiddy Up Ranch needs assistance Tuesday thru Saturday both mornings and afternoons. Tuesday thru Friday we need morning (9am-12pm) and afternoon (3pm-7pm) volunteers. Saturday we need volunteers 8:30 am to 1 pm
Ages 14 years and older. Volunteering at Kiddy Up will count towards service learning hours.

Description
Therapeutic riding uses equine-assisted activities for the purpose of contributing positively to cognitive, physical, emotional and social well-being of people with disabilities. Therapeutic riding provides benefits in the areas of health, education, sport and recreation/leisure.
Horse Boy Method has a simple 6-stage process. We create the right environment, address sensory issues and these then allow perspective taking and academics to be from the saddle, riding with the child and finally self-advocacy. Horse Boy Method is specific to Autism and neuro-psychiatric conditions.
