The Youth Policy Instutite and Jumpstart have partnered together to create a morning of fun and learning for families and small children of Pacoima. We have hosted a Winter Playdate, Spring Playdate, and now, our SUMMER BACK TO SCHOOL PLAYDATE.
Families and children are invited to spend the morning at the park, reading and creating fun crafts with Jumpstart, YPI, and community volunteers, themed around the book "If you take a mouse to school" by Laura Numeroff.
Children will read the book, make crafts, and in the end take a book home. We can't do this without community volunteers like you!
Please e-mail us if you are interested in working with children, have worked with children before, or simply love reading and want to spread the joy! Teens under 16 are welcome to volunteer with parents, teens 16 and over can volunteer alone, with a parent signature.
Thank you.

About Jumpstart Southern California
Location:
1625 W Olympic Blvd. Ste. 1050, Los Angeles, CA 90015, US
Mission Statement
Jumpstart is working toward the day every child in America enters school prepared to succeed.
Description
Each year, one third of America's children arrive on their first day of school without the skills necessary to succeed at grade level. When children begin behind their peers, catching up, especially without additional assistance, is difficult and unlikely. By focusing on enriching the education of preschool students from disadvantaged communities, Jumpstart is making sure every child has a chance at success. Jumpstart is a national nonprofit dedicated to inspiring children to learn, adults to teach, families to get involved, and communities to progress together.
