The Berrien County Community Restorative Board (CRB) is a Diversion program, based on the Restorative Justice theory, used an as alternative to formal Juvenile Court intervention. An eligible youth (first-time offender between the ages of 10 and 16) and his/her parents meet with a panel of CRB volunteers to discuss the creation of an agreement which will guide the juvenile offender in making amends to the victim and the community.

The CRB is expanding into a new category of offenses - peer to peer fights. Volunteers for this new endeavor will receive special training in Restorative Justice, cultural competence, bullying and other relevant areas.
