Under the guidance of the CEO and Development Coordinator, the Grant Writer intern’s primary responsibility is to:

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to attaining financial support to support Club programs.
  • Assist with direct identification, research, cultivation, and solicitation of grants.
  • Help to develop and maintain a timely stewardship program.
  • Write effective appeals targeting foundations, corporations, civic groups, etc.
  • Provide support to ensure that grant timelines, reports and outcomes are achieved.
  • Help produce follow up letters and enter necessary data regarding club donors to help build and retain donor history.

Description

Established in 1963, BGCV meets the needs of youth ages 5-18 regularly at five program sites serving youth residing primarily in Vista and Oceanside, California. BGCV is open "when kids need us most" - after school, on most school holidays and during the summer. BGCV offers safe places just for kids where they can learn, grow, and succeed.

Club programs help Club members build healthy habits for life and how to be resilient leaders through mentorship, accountability while developing a growth mindset.

Club programs include:

  • Education: Career Launch, STEM, music and homework assistance and literacy practice
  • Health and Wellness: health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement and a Children’s Food Garden
  • Leadership and Service: leadership development opportunities for youth.
  • Sports and Recreation: comprehensive sports and recreational fitness programs.
