The San Diego Unified School District Food Services Department in collaboration with The City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department, San Diego Public Library, military youth programs, and nonprofit organizations offers the Summer Fun CafĂ©. Adams Rec Center will be hosting a BBQ on Friday, August 4th from 12:00pm - 1:00pm. It’s a free Summer Lunch BBQ for kids and teens ages 18 and younger. SDUSD provides the food set-up, preparation and services. We will provide activities for children, tables, chairs and canopies.
We are looking for a few volunteers to assist at the event from 11:00am - 2:00pm. Volunteers will assist with set up, games, monitor jumper, arts and crafts and take down.

San Diego's Park and Recreation Department is responsible for overseeing nearly 40,000 acres of developed and undeveloped open space, more than 340 parks including Balboa Park, Mission Trails Regional Park, and Mission Bay Park; 25 miles of shoreline from Sunset Cliffs to La Jolla; 13 pools; 3 public golf complexes; 56 recreation centers and more. Park and recreation professionals and volunteers host hundreds of community events each year and provide safe places for thousands of children to go after school. City employees and volunteers take great pride to enrich the lives of others through quality parks and programs, designed and developed so that people of all ages, abilities and income levels have the chance to participate in excellent recreational opportunities.
