Super Stars Literacy believes that " When a child learns to read, they are empowered to transform their future." Classroom teachers refer students to Super Stars Literacy classrooms, where Group Leaders provide after-school literacy support through structured, intentional, literacy - based activities.
The data support position supports the student assessment and program evaluation process. This work is critical to helping us understand the impact of our work and to ensure we can secure needed resources to provide services to our students, families, and schools.
Support during this season includes:
- Entering assessment information
- Preparing assessment materials
This volunteer position required 2-10 hours of service is to be completed in the office depending on the number of volunteers.

Mission Statement
When a child learns to read, they are empowered to transform their future.
Description
Because 3rd grade reading ability is such a strong predictor of high school graduation rates, Super Stars Literacy partners with schools in low-income communities to provide at-risk K-2nd grade students with comprehensive literacy intervention programming, helping them build the literacy and social skills that are the foundation for future learning. The SSL program consists of 1) daily after-school literacy and social-emotional skill developmet, 2) in-school reading support coordinated with the students' school-day teachers, and 3) family engagement activities designed to help parents support their child's reading development and connect families to the school.
We schedule one-time, team-building group volunteering activities as well! Please reach out to volunteer@superstarsliteracy.org for more information!
