This is a Virtual Opportunity, with no fixed address.

Volunteers will first review a 6-hour online Wildlife Hotline course. Then a 2 hour one-on-one, in person orientation training session. Calls are answered from your personal phone - cell or home. Shifts are typically 2 hours, at the same day and time each week. Volunteers typically help Dallas-Fort Worth callers with questions regarding whether a baby bird they've found on the ground needs help, or is a fledgling and needs to be left alone. Other calls require referral to permitted local wildlife rehabilitators to get the injured or orphaned wildlife life-saving care, and eventual return to the wild. Other calls require helping the caller humanely exclude a wild animal that has taken up residence in the attic, or under the deck. In just one 2-hour shift each week you can save many wild lives and get a great sense of personal fulfillment.
