ELA musical learning tool

Seeking adventurous experiential testers to assist in developing a training program to benefit children and those who influence their lives. Testers must be willing to donate two-to-four hours a week for twelve weeks to participate in ELA’s arts-based enrichment-certification pilot program for interpersonal communication skill-building and emotion literacy learning. Emotion Literacy Advocates is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Testers feedback will assist us in determining future direction and development.

The program is part independent study (responding to original musical, theatrical and literary prompts for reflective writing) and group or one-on-one phone discussions (to share impressions of your experience of the curriculum, address questions, further explore communication challenges and discoveries). Written impressions of the program (through email), from chapter-to-chapter, is a tester feedback option and some written feedback will be requested at the completion of your engagement with the curriculum.

Participants must be fluent in English, have reliable Internet connection and commit to completing the program (Level I only). Our most successful testers are those who are personally motivated to engage with the curriculum...subjective experience of the curriculum is the optimal way to test it and provide feedback! To discern your level of interest, please peruse our program description items in the "About" menu where you will find curriculum previews in text and audio: http://certify.emolit.org/about/

Our first two tester groups are now in process with the curriculum and we are continuing to form tester groups, so please let us know of your interest through email, along with any questions, concerns and for more general details: pamela@emolit.org

Mission Statement

Emotion Literacy Advocates' mission is to create learning forums for insight into emotion through language and the arts.

Description

ELA creates and produces arts-based learning tools for educational institutions, social service agencies, special interest conferences, professional associations and for the general public through broadcast media.

Several of our programs have been featured on public affairs radio programs, incorporated into public high school and university health curriculums and training programs and distributed by social service agencies that coordinate child and family-based programs in diverse settings.

An easy access introduction to emotion literacy--why it is important, challenging and rich with benefits--can be found through our I Can book & I Can Explorer Circle resources:

http://open.emolit.org/icanbook/

ELA also offers a deeper-dive, arts-based, online communication skill-building program that is our most comprehensive program, to date. This resource includes our flagship learning tools for emotion literacy learning through self-reflective writing and group discussion:
