Teachers Make Great Literacy Trainers

Do you LOVE to teach? Is literacy a passion for you? Or maybe you’re retired and you miss teaching. Southwest Valley Literacy Association is looking for experienced teachers (retired or still working) to become ESL program trainers.

Southwest Valley Literacy Association (SVLA) is expanding our training staff. We are looking for teachers who live in the West Valley full time to become part of the team that shares responsibility to certify new tutors. We conduct six two-day Saturday workshops each year.

SVLA has been training tutors to teach English literacy for more than 40 years! Using the Laubach method, our tutors use workbooks and reading texts to improve a student’s ability to read, write and speak English. The demand for tutors in the West Valley continues to grow as more non-English speaking adults from Goodyear, Litchfield Park, Avondale, Tolleson and Buckeye discover our literacy program. Would you like to join us in this mission?
