Saturday Academy Bi-Lingual Volunteers
Position Summary: Saturday Academy is looking for volunteers who are bi-lingual in English and another language. Tasks would include translating our materials into other languages. We strive to make Saturday Academy accessible to all and believe that language shouldn’t be a barrier, help us create more equitable opportunities. Gain valuable experience in the realm of capacity building for an educational non-profit.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- 1-2 hours
- Translating marketing materials
Qualifications:
- Fluent in English and another language
- Strong translating abilities
- Proficient writing abilities
- Prefer Spanish, Russian, and Mandarin
- But all language welcomed!

Saturday Academy strives to engage all motivated young people, including those from under-represented communities, in hands-on, in-depth learning by connecting them to community experts as educators and mentors.
Description
The mission of Saturday Academy is to engage children through in-depth learning so they may become life-long learners. We provide hands-on classes and camps, afterschool programs, accelerated learning programs for talented and gifted students, and a high school apprenticeship program in science and engineering (ASE). Since it was founded in 1983, SA has served over 165,000 students and currently serves approximately 6,000 students each year. SA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization affiliated with the University of Portland (UP). Instructors need to be experts in their fields so that children see adults as guides to learning and careers.
