BGCLAH is looking for volunteers to assist in our Port of Los Angeles Middle School Learning Center. The Port of Los Boys and Girls Club is a Middle and High School Center so the environment is high energy and full of fun. Volunteering focus will be on academic support through homework and subject-specific tutoring. Volunteers will work with mainly Middle School Members but have the opportunity to work with High School members as well. . Other Extra Curricular Academic/Interest based programs include Jr. College Bound, Book Club, and Passport to Manhood.
Please reach out if you would like more information regarding the BGCLAH Volunteer Program or to set-up a tour of the facility!!

Mission Statement
True to its mission since 1937, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Los Angeles Harbor helps young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. We achieve this through a commitment to quality programs and services in an environment that is safe, nurturing and inspiring.
Description
BGCLAH offers assistance to youth, specifically low-income youth. We offer daily programming which includes Academics (tutoring), Athletics (sports leagues, general sports), Arts, STEM, Music, Dance, and College Preparation. We have needs in all program areas in which outreaching for consistent volunteers are vital for our organization to run since our members thrive off of 1-on-1 assistance. We also have a need for our Food Distribution Program (Weekend Wellness) which hosts a once a month distribution for our families and the community facing food insecurity. We need volunteers for this program since it requires a lot more labor and the more hands on deck, the more beneficial it is for our staff and program to run.
