Future Link, a Maryland-based non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) status, provides academic and career supports to young adults who lack the resources and the knowledge on connecting education to a successful career. Since 2008, Future Link has passionately supported Montgomery County young adults who lack resources or supports to help them identify a pathway towards self-sufficiency. By teaching self-advocacy skills, exploring in-demand careers, and providing both academic and work-related resources, Future Link sets these young adults on a course to a sustainable, successful future.
Future Link is recruiting a Fundraising Director for the organization's Board of Directors. The Fundraising Director shall work closely with the Board President and lead the Fundraising Sub-Committee focusing on corporate and individual fundraising efforts. This entails recruitment and maintaining an active database of interested companies/individuals.
Duties of the position:
Guide fundraising activities to support Future Link’s mission of raising funds and support for vulnerable young adults (ages 18-25) in Montgomery County to receive personalized and customized intervention with the goal to stay on-track and navigate the education and career processes.
- In collaboration with Board President, chair fundraising sub-committee.
- Lead fundraising sub-committee in annual development of the fundraising strategy, plan and schedule to meet the financial goals of the organization.
- Educate all Board members on fundraising basics to ensure complete participation in the fundraising efforts.
Attend quarterly board meetings in Rockville, MD.
Distribute quarterly reports to update board members on activity.
Qualifications:
Required:
Must be able to commit to at least two years of service on the board of directors.
Interest in nonprofit work and supporting our county’s disadvantaged youth.
Success in securing major gifts and grants, sponsorships, and achieving annual fundraising goals.
Excellent management and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail.
Strong communication skills.
Preferred:
Fundraising/Nonprofit & communications experience.
Experience in public relations, financial management and/or organizational development a plus.
Ability to develop and manage budgets and prepare financial reports.

Description
Future Link, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit, provides education and career supports to young adults (18-25 years) in Montgomery County. The program entry point is a 15-week seminar on career development and self-advocacy skills. Students role-play, discuss, and practice professionalism. After the seminar, our support continues with mentoring, internships, and scholarships.
