Girls on the Run to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident. Our volunteer coaches are the heart and soul of our organization. They are women and men who take great pride in role modelling caring, connectedness, and inner strength. Coaches are from all backgrounds and communities, all ages and professions, and often, are not runners! They reflect the girls and communities we serve and can be parents/guardians, teachers, or community members. Anyone who shares a common belief in the inherent strength, bravery, and limitless potential of all girls is encouraged to get involved.
Coaches are provided with all the training and support needed to have a rewarding experience with the girls. They gain as much from facilitating the lessons as the girls they are serving, and have a lot of fun too! It is truly a transformative experience, for both the coaches and the girls alike.
Training is provided on January 13 in Fort Worth (8:30am-12:30pm) and January 28 in Richardson (1-5pm). Coaches must attend one of these trainings. Season begins the week of February 4 and ends with a 5k Celebration on April 28. This class meets Tuesday/Thursday from 5:30-7pm. Learn more and apply at www.gotrdfw.org/coach.
