Development Role

This Board Member is responsible for identifying and building relationships with prospective donors, developing strategies for their cultivation, soliciting gifts and developing campaigns based on strategic goals. S/He will work closely with the Executive Director to ensure fundraising goals are met.

The Treasurer is elected at the annual meeting of the organization to hold office for a two-year term, or until a successor is elected and qualified, and is eligible for re-election for one additional consecutive two-year term.

Requirements:
  • Experience in development (preferably at a nonprofit)
  • Access to various connections throughout the NH community
  • Proven track record of success
  • Highly collaborative in approach, entrepreneurial in approach; demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills
  • Manages, the Board’s review of, and action related to, the organizations donor and fundraising responsibilities.
  • Works with the Executive Director and event board member to ensure that appropriate updates and reports are made available to the Board on a timely basis.
  • Assists the Executive Director and event board member in preparing for 2 annual events and campaigns (2 yearly)
  • Works with the Executive Director to develop donor cultivation strategies for recommendation to the Board
  • Works with the Executive Director to develop long-term giving strategies.
  • Keeps currently informed of legal, regulatory and sector developments relating to the Board’s development responsibilities.
  • Planning aspects of donor cultivation strategies.
