Goal: Lectures and workshops offer Our Clubhouse members opportunities to acquire new skills, tools, and information.
Objective: Members build mutual social and emotional support together by sharing a variety of activities over time. Exposure to varied techniques and information pertinent to one’s own experience enhances a sense of control and well-being.
Responsibilities: Prepare lectures and structure interactive classes and workshops that are of interest to people with cancer and their families and friends. Work in conjunction with staff to prepare descriptions for the Our Clubhouse calendar and flyers.
Qualifications: Experts in a variety of fields with good interpersonal skills and warmth. No individual medical, product, or spiritual advice is given, nor is solicitation allowed.
Training: Volunteer should provide Our Clubhouse staff with a copy of their resume and any certifications. Volunteer is welcome to attend a pre-existing workshop and meet with workshop facilitator, but it is not required. Volunteer must arrive prior to scheduled workshop for sufficient time to be oriented to the facility and IT equipment.
Commitment: As schedule allows. Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if unable to volunteer.
Our Clubhouse creates free, welcoming communities to support everyone living with cancer - men, women, teens, and children - along with their families and friends. Support Groups cover topics such as specific diagnoses, living with cancer, bereavement, living life post treatment, and many others.
One-on-One Support consists of our clinical staff meeting with you and your family for additional support. Available to adults and children.
Health & Wellness Workshops like yoga, meditation, healthy cooking classes and more, help improve your emotional well-being.
Art & Expression Workshops allow you to learn a new skill, like knitting or painting, among the company of others.
Lectures cover a variety of topics such as treatments, emotional well-being, and alternative therapies.
Social Activities provide a great atmosphere to celebrate every day. You can join us for seasonal parties, game nights, potluck dinners, and more.
