This event will be an opportunity for ALL families (including those with special needs) to enjoy a day of water fun FREE! There will be water slides, water balloons, super soakers, dunk tank, foam machine, Brevard County Fire and Palm Bay Fire field hosing/water dump, DJ, entertainment, characters and more! As part of the festivities, SOAK will host a silent auction, 50/50 and raffle. This is open to the whole community to spread awareness and education regarding special needs, especially Autism Spectrum Disorders.
We are looking for volunteers that can choose shifts in two hour increments (or more!)
We are asking for assistance for manning each inflatable (in pairs), helping serve treats, with set up and clean up, with manning the water shooter station and the slip and slides - with the opportunity when your shift finishes to enjoy the fun too. Each volunteer will also receive a free lunch and we would be glad to sign off on volunteer hours!

Mission Statement
Our mission is to unite families, their friends, and professionals and become a TEAM in the community promoting awareness, acceptance and supporting each other. We explore Autism through support group meetings, workshops, trainings and fun filled activities for all. We reach out to diverse populations and network with businesses to create Autism Friendly environments. SOAK reaches out through these meetings, a web page, social media and community events. SOAK's goal is to educate the community about living with AUTISM at all ages and stages and create an inclusive community for all!
Description
Currently our organization works in partnership with both national and local agencies and organizations to promote Autism acceptance through community outreach programs, workshops, training and groups.
Our area is ethnically, culturally and financially diverse as Autism Spectrum Disorders diagnosis knows no boundaries. We offer all our services in both Spanish and English.
We have worked to ensure all our events are free to families, caregivers or individuals diagnosed with ASD. We currently offer social and life skills workshops for all ages inclusively, focusing on the whole family approach.
Our earliest groups begin at infant and toddler play joining with early intervention specialists in general settings to provide free screening information and resources for developmental delays and social outings for both caregivers and children.
We host playgroups at parks and recreational facilities for all disabilities with peer buddies and siblings to promote acceptance and anti-bullying as well as finding a place where children with different abilities are surrounded by a positive network of support.
Our teen and adult groups have game nights every month finding enjoyable activities based on preferred activities whether it be board games, card games, digital games or music/videos.
